Top 10 Attractions in Washington State

From outdoors activities and zoos, to a world-famous marketplace, here are the Top 10 Washington attractions.

  1. Pike Place Market
    1st Avenue at Pike Street
    Seattle, WA   98101
    206-682-7453

Pike Place Market has claimed to be the oldest operating public farm market in the entire country. Whether that's true or not, it is definitely one of the liveliest places we know about, and certainly the liveliest in downtown Seattle. The market is sprawling, and contains everything from flower stalls and a variety of unique "trinket" shops to fishmongers whose working antics will delight you.

  2. Space Needle
Broad Street at 5th Avenue North
    Seattle, WA   98109
    800-937-9582

Enjoy Seattle's most popular destination, and the one for which it is most well-known. The Space Needle was unveiled as part of the 1962 World's Fair, and an elevator ride all the way up to the top just might make your stomach turn. The tower is 605 feet tall, and from its observation deck many glean the best view of Seattle in town.

  3. Pioneer Square
    608 First Avenue
    Seattle, WA   98104
    206-682-4646

One of the most fascinating deluges into the city of Seattle can be found at Pioneer Square, where you'll have access to Bill Speidel's "Underground Tour". Begin the tour at Doc Maynard's Public House, where you'll get a lesson about Seattle's dark and mysterious underground before diving straight in - or, should we say, under?

  4. Woodland Park Zoo
    N. 50th Street at Fremont Avenue
    Seattle, WA   98103
    206-684-4800

Do you love furry creatures and their antics? Head down to the Woodland Park Zoo, which is perfect for a day of fun with the whole family. You'll witness over 300 species of animals at this world-class zoo, which couldn't be more animal-friendly if it tried. After you've seen the polar bears and the Siberian tigers, head to the petting zoo, where the young ones will get more than a kick out of feeding docile animals.

  5. Museum of Flight

Visit a world-class flight museum in the city of Seattle! As such, the Museum of Flight houses a fantastically growing collection of everything aeronautical, from replicas of old war classics like the kitty hawk to a full-scale example of the Concorde, the first airplane to fly faster than the speed of sound.

  6. Olympic National Park

    360-565-3130

The state of Washington is home to one of the most fantastically gorgeous parks in the entire nation: Olympic National Park, famous for its hiking trails and sprawling fields of wildflowers.
